A Sri Lankan Dream Come True

I needed a holiday, and I needed one bad. But a staycation just wouldn't do. Those who know me, know I much I love travelling to the Indian Ocean, so when I booked Sri Lanka, I never actually realised how much I really had to look forward to. From the Sri lankan cuisine, to the crazy excursions and watersports, I am so glad Im able to tick Sri Lanka off my bucket list.

After working on my very first picture book collection in 2018 with an illustrator, I had yet to meet her in person. I quickly remembered this would be the perfect time to meet with her with a treasured gift - The one she contributed towards producing.

When Work meets Vacay!

San and I had worked together for numerous years on three picture books from the Nutmeg and Ginger collection, and she had been so patient and hardworking. She helped me to create my very first picture book Nutmeg and Ginger, and little did she realise that she actually made my dream come true!

We exchanged gifts and spent time getting to know one another, and I'm really proud I'm able to call her my friend, (and not just my illustrator.) What a wonderful way to end my Sri Lankan experience.

It was such as full circle moment for her to say her dream came true, when so did mine. Many times, God brings happiness, joy, and unexpected blessings in the littlest ways. I will forever have a greatful heart for my Sri Lankan experience.
