Bamboo and Trax Garden Bentota | Food Review

We never ran out of options for food in Sri Lanka, there's practically a restaurant on ever corner! I was over the moon to try Sri Lankan Cuisine as I had never tried it before. However, we thought we would get the most authentic Sri Lankan food in Colombo, but better for us that was untrue! There were a strip of restaurants directly in front of our hotel. So during our 10 day stay in Bentota, we tried our best to explore as many restaurants in Bentota as we could.

We started off at Bamboo Garden, we had seen it on a travel vlog and we couldn't wait to try the food. First and foremost, the service was impeccable, and staff was very accommodating. Initially, I ordered the roti with something else (I can't remember!) and my mum ordered the fish curry, but apparently they were out of something I think it was the mullet fish. So the waiter recommended that we change our order and get the Parofish meal to share instead.
I should have felt a RED flag blowing in the wind!
Nevertheless, we changed our order. When the food arrived, it was very delicious. We were even given complimentary roti, and free ice cream for dessert.
My Only Complaint
Unfortunately, the menu I was given had LKR900 rupees for all fish dishes. I should have known it was too good to be true! Looking back, I feel like this misprint was done on purpose, to enable customers to order the most expensive dishes on the menu. When the bill arrived, the fish dish was LKR9000 rupees, which works out to just a little under £30. Luckily we only got one dish to share (which was advised by the waiter.)
However, although the food was delicious, I do believe that this misprint on the menu is NOT an error, but a typo that was placed there intentionally.
Business is everything, but ethical business is what I would strive to achieve.
LKR900 to LKR9000 rupees is a huge difference so my only complaint would be for Bamboo Garden to update and correct their prices, as it is very misleading. There's no need for competition on the strip, I'm sure people like to try different places all the time. But overall, It was a great dinner experience and the food was good.
Getting Ready for Trax Garden | Food Review
After eating in L'Heritage at Ekho Surf, Bamboo Garden, Happy Garden, and all the others, we stumbled upon Trax Garden. (I'm literally just realising nearly every restaurant ends in garden!) Nestled in the middle, we almost missed it, but we were really happy that we didn't.

On my first visit I opted for the Sri Lankan curry. The Sri Lankan curry came with Roti and four curries including vegetable, prawn, fish and dhaal. Freshly prepared, we waited a while but it was all worth it. The food was absolutely delicious. It was so good, we returned the following day, and instead of trying something different - i just couldn't resist. I ordered it all over again!
I had absolutely no complaints about the food or service at Trax Garden, it was an experience. You even have the option of dining out in the back if you prefer. What a wonderful way to end the evening.
