I didn't have any plans to make a full length food review on Tuna Tuna 33 restaurant, but as the food was way too delicious - I just couldn't help it. A full week had quickly gone by and after trying almost every restaurant in the area, we wanted to try somewhere new. Especially, as we had tried Sri Lankan cuisine everywhere else.
So, staff called us from their balcony and we quickly spotted Tuna Tuna 33. As this Sri Lankan restaurant is independent from Ekho Surf's Tuna Turner, we were eager to give it a try.

We started our order with natural fruit juices, like the one below... but naughty me, I decided to order a Coca Cola too!

Before our food arrived, with were greeted with live musicians who performed a song, and then another specifically for us! They had musical instruments, they sang, and even incorporated our family names into the music! It was such a good way to start the evening.
Most of the restaurants around the area had an identical menu, and they practically offered the same exact things. We looked through the menu and when we found steak, we were immediately sold!
We both decided upon the steak and sweet potato with vegetables, (but kids being kids) my son stuck to his usual burger and chips!

Our food had finally arrived, and we enjoyed our meal. Steak was cooked to perfection with a selection of okra, broccoli, and seasonal vegetables. To my surprise, the sweet potato was deep fried like crisps, I would have preferred if it was roasted instead, but nevertheless, it was different ... and different is not always bad.
This was one of my favourite meals but you know - if you didn't fancy eating at Tuna Tuna 33, you can always head down the road (or even next door) to some of the other restaurants.
If you haven't already, Subscribe here to find out all about our surprise on the 19th September 2025!
