Top 4 Beaches in Newquay

Updated: Feb 9, 2023

Looking for a quick beach break? Check out my top 4 beaches in Newquay.

1.) Great Western Beach

This was my favourite beach. We decided to go in the evening. The winds were extremely high, but I had time to gather my thoughts and plans. It's perfect for spending quality alone time, gathering your thoughts and releasing any negative energy or emotions you may have. Great western beach boasts a private hotel and restaurant and the beach is privately managed. Once you exit the beach onto the main road, you find a wishing well a few meters away.

2) Towan Beach

This was of course my second favourite beach in Newquay. There was something so magical about this beach. Again, the winds were strong and the foam from the sea was floating around in the air like fireflies. It was almost like we were waiting a spell to manifest! This is a beach i'd definitely visit again upon my return. There's a gorgeous bridge overhead which leads to a private property, and a sneaky cave I was to fearful to explore!

3) Torlcarne Beach

Was one I often got confused with Towan beach. Both beaches promised some mystical, magical and breath taking views. As the beaches were all connected this was practically at the higher end of Towan beach.

4) Fistral Beach

Fistral Beach is everyone's favourite. It was the last beach we visited as it was the furthest away. We decided to go really early so we set of at 7.30am and arrived at 8.00am. It was a long walk. This was a very quiet beach, not sure if it was because of the time of day we arrived.

To be fair, although the beach was ever-so beautiful, we were very disappointed as the entry to the beach was not so straightforward. There were numerous paths leading to the beach and lots of red and white tape so were were unable to get close. There are so many sandy mountains which were obstructing any way we could get to close to the sea. We were forced to enjoy our beautiful view from a sandtop mountain.
